What does an Autism Assessment Involve?

 Autism Assessment UK will only recommend carrying out the assessments that are necessary to reach a clear decision as to whether a diagnosis of Autism can be made. This means that the majority of assessments may only require two core components; 

 

​

1. Direct observational assessment. This can be done via video link, or in clinic with some adaptations. At the moment we are using the BOSA (Brief Observation of Symptoms of Autism).

​

 

2. Clinical interview using the Developmental, Dimensional and Diagnostic Interview (3di)
